How we verify gate companies

Last updated September 30, 2026 · Reviewed by the drivewaygates.pro team

We list only companies that install, automate or repair driveway gates. We look up each license in the public record of the issuing authority and re-check it at least every 90 days [VERIFY]. Rankings follow published criteria. Paid Featured listings are labeled and shown separately.

Who we list

We list a company only if gates are a main part of its work. That means installing, automating or repairing gates. General contractors, fence companies, pavers and landscapers are not listed.

Each company tells us what share of its work is gates. We show that figure marked “self-reported”. If we find the figure is materially wrong, we remove the listing.

License checks

We look up each license in the public database ourselves. We don’t accept screenshots from the company. The profile shows the status, name, expiry date and the date we checked.

Reading a company card

  1. License verified. We found an active license in the authority’s public record, under a name that matches the business.
  2. License number and authority. The exact record we checked. You can look it up yourself on the authority’s website.
  3. Check date. When we last confirmed the record. If this is more than 90 days old, the badge changes to “Not yet verified”.
  4. Featured. The company paid for this position. It shows no rank number and does not change the ranked list below it.

What each badge means

License verified
Active license found, the name matches, and we checked it within the last 90 days.
Not yet verified
New listing or pending re-check. Not ranked and not eligible for Featured until verified.
License expired
The record shows expired, suspended or revoked. The company is hidden from lists and quote matching.

Ranking criteria

Every verified company in an area is scored on the same four criteria. Ties go to the company with more years in business.

  • Gate specialization35%Self-reported share of gate work, checked against services, photos and reviews.
  • Review score and volume30%Weighted average, adjusted so a few reviews cannot outrank many.
  • Response time20%Median time to first contact on quote requests over the last 90 days.
  • Record15%Years licensed, complaint history with the authority, insurance level.

Weights are placeholders pending sign-off [VERIFY].

Reviews

Reviews come from our own customers and from Google [VERIFY]. Each review shows where and when it was posted. “Verified customer” means we matched the review to a real job [VERIFY].

Companies cannot hide or reorder reviews. They can reply once, in public. We remove a review only for abuse, personal data, or if the writer was not a customer. Reviews older than 3 years do not count [VERIFY].

Corrections

If a license, price or fact on this site is wrong, email [email protected] with a source. We reply within 2 business days [VERIFY] and log every material correction here.
